Bublik blasted 21 aces and saved both break points he faced defeating French qualifier Valentin Royer 7-6(4), 7-6(4) in today’s Hangzhou Open final.

The 28-year-old Bublik joined Taylor Fritz as just the second man to capture an ATP tournament title without surrendering serve in the entire tournament.

“Honestly I always say that wins don’t make me go through the roof and losses don’t put me to the ground,” Bublik said. “I try to stay stable. I enjoy what I do.

“I’m happy that I’m able to travel, play tournaments and stay healthy, and the wins are coming… That’s beautiful.”

It’s been both a beautiful and successful season for Bublik, who scored a win over then world No. 1 Jannik Sinner in June. Bublik collected his eighth tournament title and first on an outdoor hard court.

In his semifinal and final victories, Bublik slammed a combined 40 aces and faced only two break points total.

“He played unbelievable, and I wasn’t expecting that,” Bublik said of Royer, who beat Corentin Moutet in the all-French semifinal. “He was near this level during the tournament, and he exceeded it. He was playing well and I really had to serve and do my best in order to win.

“I served and hit some amazing shots throughout the match and I won by only a few points.”

Bublik raised his 2025 record to 31-17 rising up to No. 16 in the ATP Live Rankings.
