THE OPPOSITION
Leicester will have had nearly a fortnight without a game come kick-off time, after their scheduled match against Arsenal last weekend was postponed due to the Gunners’ involvement in the inaugural FIFA Women’s Champions Cup.
It means they have had some time to work on the training pitch after three losses to start the new year, and an opportunity to integrate the five signings they made in the winter window.
One of those is former United striker Rachel Williams, who has played in each of the Foxes’ last two outings, after departing the Reds following three-and-a-half seasons.
Williams was a United player when the two squads last met on the opening weekend of the season, in September, as Skinner’s team triumphed 4-0 on a rainy afternoon in Leigh, thanks to goals from Toone, Elisabeth Terland and Melvine Malard (two).
Rick Passmoor’s charges currently occupy 10th position in the 12-team top-flight table, and will be hoping to increase the gap on bottom side Liverpool, which currently stands at two points.
