Sabalenka was honored during a special on-court ceremony prior to the WTA Finals, where she received the coveted year-end No.1 trophy, celebrating another dominant campaign that saw her win another major title and run the table at the top of the rankings.

Sabalenka is now one of only 13 players in WTA history to finish the season in the No.1 position on multiple occasions. In her second stint at No.1, Sabalenka has held the top spot for 54 consecutive weeks, and 62 overall, which is good for 13th most all-time.

“This means a lot to me,” Sabalenka said. We’ve put a lot of hard work in this year, and hard work pays off. Every final and every match was incredible, I’m super proud of the season and hopefully I can finish on a very good note here in Riyadh.”

In WTA history, 29 women have held the No.1 ranking, and 16 different women have finished a season as year-end No.1.
