The Fletcher family make top-flight football history in England
The only previous father-and-son combination to represent United’s first team was John Aston Snr and John Aston Jnr.
Brothers to have turned out for the Reds at senior level include Brian and Jimmy Greenhoff and George and Martin Buchan.
More recently, Gary and Phil Neville enjoyed fabulous careers here and the first twins to achieve the feat were Adam and Richard Eckersley.
However, as Adam’s sole outing was a League Cup tie against Barnet, Rafael and Fabio took the record of being the first for us in the Premier League.
Michael and Will Keane, currently with Everton and Reading respectively, also managed to repeat the feat, after winning the FA Youth Cup together in 2011. Michael made one league appearance, against Sunderland.
